Phellandrene

Phellandrene is basically a pair of both alpha phellandrene and beta phellandrene. They both have the same molecular structure and chemical properties. They consider both to be bond isomers. We can find it in tea tree oil.

Altogether, people make Perfumes and essences when both alpha phellandrene and beta phellandrene mix together. They both are insoluble in water. Cannabis isn’t a common plant to have terpene. Nevertheless, that is why people consider it a secondary terpene. The Chinese use it in medicines and have done it for centuries.  

Phellandrene in everyday life:

Fungicide: 

A study published in the journal Botanical Studies back in 2017, which demonstrated that it has antifungal advantages. The study showed the removal of Fungai when they added phellandrene. Researchers concluded that alpha-phellandrene showed fungicidal activity that could control the Pennicilium cyclopean fungus in tomatoes. 

Anti-inflammation: 

A number of terpenes naturally have to ability to be anti-inflammatory and this is one of such terpenes. But the mechanism used by it to get inflammation is different from other terpenes. 

Analgesic: 

A number of studies were conducted on animals to prove that it is also a pain reliever. Phellandrene along with other terpenes in the essential oil may have relieving effects of a number of pains. 

Role of phellandrene in cannabis:
